| J.S. Clayden is a core and founder member of the band Pitchshifter. As such he has many credits under his belt, including touring Ozzfest in the USA and the Vans Warped Tour in Europe. Other touring credits include: The Deftones, Quicksand and Static X (to name but a few) in countries as far ranging as Japan, Australia and all over Europe. Pitchshifter have headlined many of their own tours and are regulars at the London Astoria, and the UKs other premiere venues. Over the years Pitchshifter have had many successes, from playing MTVs Fashionably Loud in Jamaica with Limp Bizkit, to headlining 2000AD Magazines (creators of Judge Dredd) 25th anniversary at Londons infamous Ministry of Sound club. The band have also had countless successful headline UK tours. All these events helped to solidify Pitchshifters position as one of the undisputed most exciting live bands out of the UK. A competent engineer and programmer, J.S. has many studio albums under his belt. He has also worked with producers such as Dave Jerden in Los Angeles (Alice in Chains, Offspring, Janes Addiction) and Machine in New York (Hed PE, King Crimson, Clutch, Lamb Of God). Other collaborators include long time friend Jello Biafra (front man of the Dead Kennedys and owner of Alternative Tentacles Records). Jello guests on Pitchshifters Deviant album, and has also joined J.S. on stage in the UK at the much hyped Essential Festival. Aside from song writing and performing, J.S. is no stranger to remixing, and has completed remixes for bands as wide ranging in styles as The Stereophonics and Clawfinger, Pigface and The oh so chic Parisian electro-shockers Dead Sexy. J.S. has also commissioned a wide range of mixes from the likes of Rob Swift, Luke Vibert (Wagon Christ / Plug), DJ Punc Roc and Therapy? What about commercial media? PSI Records' sync artists, Pitchshifter and J.S. himself have all been featured in major video games, commercials, movies and trailers. Paramount Pitctures' Paycheck starring Ben Affleck & Uma Thurman and directed by the mighty John Woo features music from PSI in it's trailer. So why start a label? We'll let J.S. tell you himself: "It's all about the fans and the music. We talked to a lot of labels about the release of the new Pitchshifter record but none of them seemed to get it. We knew it had to be done right. We wanted to be able to give something back to a very loyal and awesome fan base. A 'thank you' for years of dedication. So we put out a live album (which we had never done before) and gave away a remix album with it for free. So you pay one regular album price and you get a double album. It's the least we could do for such an awesome following of fans. They deserve the best." Do you guys have any plans for Pitchshifter after that? "Once we got the first record going we thought, 'hey let's put out a DVD too'. So that gave birth to the P.S.I.entology Pitchshifter DVD. The footage in the DVD brings an insight into the band that has never been seen before. It's more of an anthology than a 'live DVD' with a collection of many things Pitchshifter." What about the rumours that Pitchshifter will play again, or are secretly recording new music under the guise of splitting up? "I do hear those crazy rumours from time to time. I think the eye logo crop circle, a brief flirtation with the occult and our impromtue DVD party shows kick-started the conspiracy theorists off again. But I ask you, would upstanding pillars of the community like ourselves do anything as naughty as secretly write new music for some clandestine future gigs?" What about other releases? "Right now we have our latest signing This Is Menace OUT NOW! (April 25th 2005.) They are a hard rocking unit made up of some very familiar faces...
